Suicide Bereavement Support Groups
In addition to individual grief counseling, I offer group support, where suicide-bereaved parents gather to share their grief, their tears and stories of their children. This companionship can help you feel seen and acknowledged by others who know this most painful journey themselves. It is a comfort to sit with similarly bereaved parents, especially in a culture that is grief avoidant like ours. Child loss—particularly suicide--can contribute to parents’ feelings of isolation, on top of the horrid pain of losing your child. You may feel unsupported, misunderstood by others. For suicide-grief is nearly impossible for the non-bereaved to even contemplate, as it scares people, shakes them to their bones. If you are experiencing rejection, loneliness or judgment, I am sorry. It is my hope that individual grief counseling and/or attending a grief support group might help soften the raw and intense devastation that is your new normal. Groups meet: Wednesday afternoons and evenings. Contact me for details. Fees: $65 per two hour group session. Sliding scale available. Frequently Asked Questions Learn About Individual Counseling |
